Description:

“Faced with the precarious existence of tribal life - drought, sickness, evil influences - the shaman responded by ridding his body of weight and flying to another world, another level of perception, where he could find the strength to change the face of reality,” Italo Calvino wrote in the first of his Six Memos for the Next Millennium. Ancient shamans were, first and foremost, dreamers, who could shift consciousness at will and travel across time and between worlds to guide souls on both sides of death, scout the future, commune with the spirits – and bring the people through dark times.  In this powerful, new series, Robert brings us wisdom from the ancient dreamers we can apply to our everyday lives, including the following:

1.      Dreams are real events and may take place in lifeworlds as real as the physical

2.      Dreaming is traveling; you make visits and receive visitations

3.      You have a dreambody as well as a physical body.

4.      Dreams may be memories of the future

5.      Dreaming, you choose events that will manifest in waking life.

6.      The path of the soul after death is the path of the soul in dreams.

Module 1
Become a Shaman of the Breakfast Table

"Everyone who dreams is a little bit shaman," say the Kagwahiv, a dreaming people of Amazonia. We stand at the edge of such power when we remember and record our dreams, learn to share them and act on them in the right ways, and master the art of entering the dreamworld consciously for healing, adventure and guidance.

In our first class we will learn fun ways of talking and walking our dreams, of bringing energy and guidance from the dreamworld into everyday life. We learn how to create a safe space where we can share dreams of the night and dreams of life with others, receive helpful feedback, and encourage each other to move towards creative and healing action.

We discover that each of us can play guide for others, and that by sharing in the right way we claim our voice, grow our power as storytellers and communicators, build stronger friendships and lay foundations for a new kind of community. Above all, we learn to take action to embody the energy and guidance of our dreams in everyday life. You’ll learn:

-          The Lightning Dreamwork game, one of Robert’s original techniques, that gives us a fun, fast way to share dreams and life stories, receive helpful feedback and encourage each other to move towards creative and healing action.

-          How dreams can be both literal and symbolic – and experiences of another reality.

-          Why we need to take dreams more literally and the incidents of waking life more symbolically

-          Why dreams, even nightmares, are not on our case, but on our side.

Module 2
Become a Shamanic Lucid Dreamer

The easiest way to become a conscious or lucid dreamer is to start out conscious and stay that way as the action unfolds. The border state of hypnagogia – the place between sleep and awake – is a wonderful launch pad for lucid dreaming.

A remembered dream or personal image may be the ideal portal for a lucid dream adventure.

A dream is a journey; it is also a place. You went somewhere in your dream, near or far from the fields you know in your regular life; and because you have been to that place, you can find your way there again.

Yet we don’t have to travel alone on the roads of dreaming. By learning the skills of the dream tracker, we can accompany friends on their journeys — to reclaim souls and move beyond fear and regret — as true soul companions.

You’ll discover how to:

  • Use a dream or personal image as the portal for a shamanic journey
  • Re-enter a dream to confront and resolve a nightmare terror, solve a mystery, or claim a power
  • Dialogue with a dream character
  • Use the liminal space between sleep and awake as your launch pad for lucid dream adventures and your rendezvous place for contact with inner and transpersonal guides
  • Develop personal portals to the multiverse
  • Have more fun, romance, and adventure in the larger reality

Module 3
Be a Kairomancer in the Speaking Land

Australia’s First Peoples say that we live in the Speaking land: everything is alive and conscious and will speak to us if we pay attention. When you attend to the living symbols around you with all of your senses, and learn their language, you become a kairomancer.  Robert invented the word to describe someone who’s ready to notice and act in those special moments of Kairos time, when synchronicity is at play and time seems to work differently.

Navigating by synchronicity is the dreamer’s way of operating 24/7. The world speaks to us in the manner of dreams if we are ready to pay attention.

You’ll be encouraged to play wonderful fresh games of coincidence in which you will receive direct messages on your life issues from the oracle of the universe.

In this module, you’ll discover:

·         The Nine Rules of Coincidence

·         How to do bibliomancy — divination by the book

·         How to put your question to the world and get an answer from what Robert calls Sidewalk Tarot

·         How to let the world put its questions to you by scheduling unscheduled time to pay attention as you walk in what Baudelaire called “the forest of living symbols that are looking at you”

·         How to listen for your daily kledon, a favorite oracle of the ancient Greeks, that works well on any day

·         How meaningful coincidences multiply when you’re in motion, traveling outside your familiar rounds, or going through a major life transition

·         How what is in your way may be your way
