Description:

In a world where many people would rather say “I’m spiritual but not religious”, has organised religion had its day?  Every person is has a unique history and potential, so how can any religion hope to express the hopes and desires of the human soul?

In the setting of St James’s Church, which is part of the Church of England,  Malcolm Stern, the co- founder of Alternatives who sees himself having trodden a spiritual path for 35 years, is in dialogue with Lucy Winkett, Rector of St James’s and one of the first generation of women to be ordained priest in the 1990s.

In a spirit of honest and open conversation, they will explore both the delights and catastrophes that can befall religious communities and take an unflinching look at the place of religion and spirituality in our own individual lives and in society today.   How we are able to explore the deepest mysteries of our own souls is one of the greatest challenges of being human: come and join the conversation.
