Experience your voice as a living pathway toward presence, creativity, and brave expression
Description:

Our voice is both archive and landscape — it carries a map of our ancestral, political and cultural histories — and holds the key to articulating the futures we dream of. Beneath habitual ways of speaking and performing lives a more instinctive, expressive, and untamed voice waiting to be remembered. When we give space for this voice to be heard in its fullness, something vital begins to move.

Through singing, sounding, somatic exploration, writing, and play, this experiential workshop invites participants into the voice as a living pathway toward presence, creativity, and brave expression. Together, we create space for what has been silenced to emerge, and for the joy and energy of unguarded expression to return.

No singing experience or musical background is needed. Singer and songwriter Doe Paoro has facilitated this workshop all over the world and believes that singing is a pathway for collective and personal healing and harmony.

About the speaker, Doe Paoro

Doe Paoro is a singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist from New York who creates immersive musical experiences rooted in ritual that invite audiences into deep  reflection, remembrance and harmony. Drawing from a wide-ranging musical life that has included collaborations and performances alongside artists from Gipsy Kings to Bon Iver, her work bridges many worlds through intimate songwriting.

Her most recent album, Living Through Collapse, is a body of work that asks us to sit with the grief and sacred responsibility of living in a world in crisis. How might music help orient us in disorienting times? How can song awaken courage and a deeper sense of belonning to one another and the living world? How might this moment call each of us more fully into care and participation?  Together we will find a way and this concert intends to be a gathering place where music becomes both refuge and invitation: a path to listen to the heart as a source of resilience, imagination, and repair.
